An Emergency for Herman Cain (an open letter)

(foreword)
Let me preface this by saying I've been on the Cain Train since he ran for Senate.  I called in to his show to encourage him to run for president.  I was elated when they said on the radio he had quit radio (sortof) and had formed an exploratory committee.  I was ecstatic when they announced he had scheduled a mystery rally at Centennial Park.  Herman's my man.  But...(/forward)

Dear Mr Cain,

As a business man, you know you have to have the best management  available to you to succeed.  Up untill now, you have done very well with what you've had to work with, but things are changing fast.  You have been noticed, and nearly everyone thinks you have a real shot at being the next President of the United States of America.  It's time to take things to the next level.

I have nothing against Mr Block myself.  I think he's done a fine job so far, with what he's had to work with.  Slim budgets are difficult.  But then, if I had to guess,  that is why you hired him - slim budgets.  Please don't forget that.

As you know, sometimes changes have to be made.  When you can afford to hire a more qualified employee who demands a higher salary, you do so, if it benefits the company.  This is that time.  I've heard you talk to Neal about the resumes that have crossed your desk.  I think even some of the best of them out there would even work on contingency - deffer salary until they can get those contributions REALLY flowing.  Because they believe in you too.  You just need the right help.

I'm sure you've given this advice a thousand times - don't let loyalty get in the way of success.  Friends and family are friends and family, but business is business.

One of the things that separates you from the other candidates is your business background, and that works for you to deal with the media in this situation.  Rick Perry fires his campaign manager, and they will all shout "Perry's campaign is falling apart! Run horribly! etc etc!"  If you change management, you're just "Entering a new phase.  Building up the strongest team possible.  etc etc."

Even a shadow campaign manager would work.  Just someone to crank things up a notch beyond dumb youtube videos.

If you read this, thank you for taking the time to do so, and I hope you take my advice.  I have more where that came from, and will be posting it here soon ;)

Thank you,
roland
